Planned Giving Boot Camp for Major Gift Officers!

This new 3-part webinar series is for major gift fundraisers who are looking to add planned gift cultivation to their repertoire without getting into the weeds of the technical stuff!!  Our goal is to make it easier for you to introduce the topic and be conversant in the basic vehicles (enough to hand it over to the your planned giving counsel if necessary).

Cost: $210 (includes registration for up to 15 additional attendees) for three 1-hour sessions.

Next course: Wednesdays Dec. 5, 12 and 19 at Noon EASTERN

  1. Intro and Overview – If you are a major gift officer, you know a bit about planned giving already – we get that. In this first session, we will take a fresh look at the field, its humongous potential and do a quick overview of basic vehicles.
  2. Initiating the Legacy Discussion and Educating Your Prospects – How do you even initiate a conversation about legacy giving? We’ll give you an approach to broaching the topic of legacy giving and how to begin educating your prospects on the options (without feeling like a fool!).
  3. Life Income Options – What would a planned giving course be without Charitable Remainder Trusts and Gift Annuities?  We will cover the most likely life income scenarios that you may encounter (the real simple, easy stuff) and what you need to know help move the process along and close the gift!

  1. We found the sessions helpful especially because you avoided the pit falls of many other planned giving sessions by not going too deep into the woods. One of my colleagues always says, with planned giving you need to speak intelligently to the donor and have a good grasp of the basics but also know what you don’t know and be ready to say, “I’ll have to check on that.”

I would have liked to have seen more examples of how to talk with a donor, like actual language of conversation starters and what to look for to know when a donor is ready for that conversation.
