Legacy Cohorts

Build Your Planned Giving Program With Results Today – Legacy Cohorts

Legacy Cohorts is a simple yet potent approach for medium and small nonprofits to establish or improve legacy (sometimes called “planned giving”) programs.

Legacy gifts are a way for donors to make an impact by using assets like art and real estate, or by way of structured methods such as endowments and gifts in wills. Legacy gifts help achieve long-term fiscal viability for organizations while also extending valuable financial planning services to donors.

This cost-effective and turnkey Legacy Cohort model brings together numerous nonprofits to launch the practice simultaneously with guidance from highly experienced consultants.

The one-year program brings together up to 15 similar organizations seeking to launch or grow their legacy giving programs.  Together, the participating organizations will adopt best practices, designed to lead directly to gift commitments via wills, trusts and other vehicles.

The program consists of a series of activities and benchmarks, including workshops for building your case for legacy giving, webinar trainings, group conference calls and customized support to each organization – all intended to fully incorporate legacy into your Development practices.

Besides establishing a legacy giving program equipped and ready to grow exponentially, we also ensure through the program that each organization has real dollars attached to initial commitments during the kick-off year of the program, possibly over $1 million in legacy gifts in the first year alone.

Success and continuation of the program is enhanced through the collaborative model that encourages members of the group to share experiences and inspire each other to greater success.

The program is being led by Lori Kranczer, Esq., who ran similar programs for Hillel International and has over 16 years of experience as a planned giving director and educator. Jonathan Gudema, Esq., co-consults on the program, bringing his 20 years of planned giving consulting to over 300 organizations.
